Thread: Fuel Filler Seal at the External Sheetmetal

Default Fuel Filler Seal at the External Sheetmetal

I am active at installing my gas tank on the 68 M725. I want to tune everything up as I go. I removed the external sheetmetal at the fuel filler to straighten and paint it. The grommet or seal around the filler to the sheet metal is dry and cracked. Is there a source for a replacement? Can you buy the sheet metal insert for the filler with the gasket/grommet? If these options are not available ...does anyone have a work-around?

This is the last step to getting my M725 running. Any help in resolving this issue would be a relief to my restore.

    Thanks in advance,

We used a length of fuel hose cut down one side. 5/16 or 3/8, IIRC.
