Has anyone registered their 715 in New York State.
I would like to in a few months and was wondering what trouble I'm getting into.

there is a guy in Sodus (over near Rochester) that had one... I might try and see him in about a month. He lives very near to a cousin of mine. Shouldn't be too hard to track down.

I had no problem registering my '69 here in Erie County.
Here's what you have to do, assuming it was never registered in NYS: have the Clerk at your county's auto bureau over ride the VIN since the computer wants a regular VIN. It can be done and NYS will issue a Transferrable registration, no title. Keep the registration in a safe place, since it can be used to transfer the vehicle (put a copy in the truck).
NYS first issued a non-transferrable registration, then two weeks later a transferable arrived in the mail.
Inspection was no problem either. It's $10 (no emission test). Just make sure all the lights work, wipers are ok and the brakes are tight. Adjustments are easy.
If you have a friend who does the inspection, he might not even pull a wheel if he gets a ride (ha ha).
Dry rot on old NDTs might be an issue. Make sure you tell them that the truck has tubes and you never drive fast...
Good luck. If you live close to Buffalo, I can set you up with the guy who runs the DMV and took care of mine.
That being said, you should have no problem.

Thanks for the info. I did a little research into inspections and it looks like I will have to install seatbelts. Was this in your case? Also, it was registered in VT before so an actual title has been issued for it so maybe this will help out.
