    any 6bt cummins in a m715

    anybody out there got a 6 bt in there m715 ? i got a guy wanting to trade a 4 bt of mine for a 6bt of his. he has a m37 and a 6bt wont fit for sure. just lookin for input before i trade.

    google for 6bt and fsj wagoneers, I've seen a writeup of one done in a 'gooner before. Seemed lots to do to force it to fit. 4bt is more better.

    I'd do what I could to get the 6bt in there. 4bts get awesome mileage, but you can't tow much. Just seems like any extra work would be worth being able to drag a 5th wheel around if you wanted to.

    Did anyone ever manage to get a 6BT with the intercooler in a 715?

    AFTERCOOLER IN THE INTAKE MANIFOLD IS THE WAY TO GO.

    I sure hope you get this figured out, I have that aircraft tug with the 6bt in it here, that i sold to a fellow, and his m715. We are supposed to do the swap when he returns from Iraq. I have measured it up some, and it looks like it should make it.

    well... the easiest way is of course, to cut the firewall. There is no really compelling reason NOT to, and it opens up a lot of room that is badly needed. A proper intercooler needs enough room.... M715's are kind of short for an engine that long to begin with, trying to shoehorn that much radiator and intercooler in there is asking for space problems.

    Don't be scared to cut! heheh
