Default convert hard top to rag top?

hey everyone, I'm new here for the most part...I've been in search for an m715 for a while now after a few 90's jeep projects.

down to the technical question...

I found a truck in decent shape, however it was converted to a forest fire rig when it came out of service, they then equipped it with the after market hard top. I would have a new rag top cut, and snapped in but....

does anyone know if you can swap back to a rag top? I've only seen the "hoop bars" for sale in my searching, not the cross bars which tie it together. are there full replacement kits out there?

thanks in advance for any help.

Default Hard top

I dont know about any frame kits for the M715 yet. I have seen the frames for sale on Ebay in the past. Usually I am unempoyed and broke when they appear. One of the guys here makes the bows for the support on top. You may have to find a truck that is being parted out.
My truck came with a hard top as well. It unbolts easily. Two small bolts to the windshield frame, then 4 more bolts to the cab, two on each side. Mine is made of steel and heavy. I need to use a small crane to pick it.
Kia makes an identical model in South Korea, I have seen piles of these trucks scrapped in photos. I am wondering if its possible to get body parts like the cab frame from South Korea, or if they have export rules liek we do

interesting, I'll keep searching I'm sure anything could be rigged to work. I'm just unfamiliar with how the rag top bars/hopps mount to inside the cab.

the rag top just looks a little more sinister compared to the metal box.

Here is what you need. You should be able to remove whatever they installed when you go back to a soft top. That is what I did as well.

Pm'd you back

Thanks for the diagram, it helps a lot. ......I plan on increasing the size of the rag top rear window too so a new rag is no big deal.

Hi folks, I just found this post from five years ago with the poster looking for a soft-top conversion. I have all four parts—2 door frames and 2 top bows—shown in the diagram. If anyone needs them, please PM me or send an email through the forum. I no longer have my M715, and would sell these for a fair price.
