Default New M715 to the family!

Picked up last week a 1968 M715 that I've been talking to the owner for some time. Needs little things and some love but it's a totally rust free truck! I'll be posting updates as it progresses. I'm finding parts are REALLY hard to come by, guess they're nowhere nearly as popular as Jeeps and other trucks. Runs great with NO smoking !

Ok , couple of updates. Sunday when I took it for a short ride on my road I noted it was NOT getting anywhere near full throttle. Looked at linkage and found gas pedal "L" rod was WAY misadjusted. I rebent it and adjusted it to get full opening. Can almost get speed limit now!I also noticed the shifter flops around like something is missing, I unscrewed the top cap and removed the shifter handle. Found pivot pin worn , almost cut in half but shifter ball is good. I made a new pin out of an old drill bit ( they're no longer available). Shifts like new!

What size drill bit did you use? Shifting mine is a crapshoot because of lever play.

Just measured, and .250" it was. And I made it .050" longer than the original pin.
