Thread: Head gasket question

    Default Head gasket question

I had a question about the head gaskets for sale from original military jeep parts, such as will they actually fit? Are they new production?

Whether they're NOS or new, I see no reason that they wouldn't fit. For all of us that own these old vehicles, we haven't much of a choice other than depending on those who sell us the parts. If your truck needs a new head gasket, put your trust in the company selling them, it's all we can do. Good luck.

Do a quick search on here about head gaskets. Ours have a unique shape on the ends (almost wing-like extensions on the end corners) that are meant for use on the military engine. The civi ones don't have the same shape which will cause leaks of course. Make sure you get the right one and you should be good to go.

I have always had good luck with the steel, embossed gaskets. So far so good.
