I made my bumper 76" to give a little more coverage for the fenders/flares. Also, get yourself some 7/16" beveled washers to use with the 7" c-channel. I used 2 beveled washers on top and ground the bottom so that I could slide in a flat washer.

I had the machinist mill both top and bottom inside the channel so it was parallel( relative to outside the channel), then welded in a flat piece on each side to make both inner sides flat against the frame...
    should be way overkilll....

I didn't have a machinist handy. Actually, I called a machinist to do just that and he recommended the beveled washers. Worked great and saved me a few bucks.

Thanks for the bumper tips. I will probably grind to see if I can make a flat spot, if not then bevelled washers it is. Yes Tim has one and close by, his is near factory, not heavy duty enough for me. If and when I hit something it will be more difficult to bend 7" channel. Ended up cleaning up the last weeks mess, will start on the bumper in the next day or so. How many hole saws do you think I need? I bought one, probably gonna be going back for another or two. Thanks Again Fisherman

I started out doing the grinding thing. Get the beveled washers then you only have to grind one side. I used 7/16 fine thread grade 8 bolts. Stock uses 1/2 in fine thread bolts.
