Source for Red Cross markings (the BIG ones)
    Post by maddawg308 on Aug 21, 2006, 10:22am

Looking for someone selling the LARGE Red Cross markings that go on the sides, back, and top of the -725. I saw a place a while back selling the large stickers, a site selling mostly CUCV parts. I since have lost the link. Any help?

Probably too big to be a sticker, or would cost more then it is worth. I believe the originals were painted on. I remember stumbling on the paint codes a few times.

Mine did have stickers originally - but as I never found a source for them, I decided paint was the way to go.

They would need to be almost 4'x4' in size right? Stickers that big would be a pain to apply without getting any air bubbles or wrinkles in it. And I have done tons of decal placements. It would be a mess I think for joe average to try it.

Ahh, crap. Guess I'm going to have to mask it all out once I get my rig painted 24087, and paint the crosses that way. Any idea what the official colors were for the cross?

I remember seeing the stickers that were 4x4 feet in size, and a PM article on them peeling off due to bad adhesion. Guess it's best I paint them anyways...

My body shop guy just mixed paint - corvette white and not sure what the red was, I'll ask him.

Crosses are 39" x 39" on the sides, 36" x 36" on the back door, with the red cross being 1.5" in on all sides from the white border.

Another option is magnetic decals . I have not done it yet due other little projects on truck , though I did price them . I went to a sign shop and they qouted me $180 for the 2 sides , rear and 2 small front ones .
