    Default closer to project start

well all i got my stock 715 (not all restored)
im ditching the stiock motor drivetrain axels rires and rims...

what i want to do is take my 83 chevy 1/2ton(3/4)(1ton) frankenstine mudder and take all i can off of it..

which shouldnt be too difficult, but the wuestion i have now is axels
whoulg i "steal" axels off another chevy? like a d60/14ff?
of should i steal them off a dodge?
where do you all get your axels normally?
that;s the main question i have so far.. and im open for input..

Many have done the 60/14 axle combination with positive reports on it. CUCV trucks seem to be a popular donor as the gearing is low in them (though not as low as the M715 stock axles) and the rear comes with a locker.

Are you bringing the truck to Texas, or going to Arizona to do the build?

i have yet to decide, we are currently rentin but job oppurtunities and well (HOME) is better in arizona, im not a real.. well fan of texas (mainly cause i got stationed there not voulntarily moved)
but my issue is .. if i ship it to texas.. while renting a house. i'll definatley tear it all down.. then what will i do when my lease is up, we allready need a bigger house (new family members)
soi would b eplacing myself in a financial bind moving the truck to abilene.. before knowing where we will be moving to next summer..
it sucks no knowing cause my baby misses me and i miss it..!
i also have my 83 chevy as the powerhouse and drivetrain donor.. also got new 37's on it.. uggh.. wanna tear that apart for my jeep parts.. and get a subaru for a daily driver..
    ee.. soo complicated..
oh well.. so yet i sit another year waiting to start my jeep project...
i seriously mis the sound of bad motormount and loose exhaust slapping around....
oh and this sucks too! last tiem i wante dto have it sent out.. i came down on orders for iraq alot earlier then expected.. it's like god is keeping me seperated from my jeep until the exact right moment...
    hmmmmmm.....
