Hello all,
I have a question for all of you. My 715 has started to emit a Grinding noise anytime I release the clutch or if I am driving anytime I let off on the gas. The grinding sounds as if it is coming from the transmission, as if the clutch may not be disengaging??? and maybe I am hearing the gears getting more backlash because of this. Anyway has anyone else encountered this problem? Maybe the Pilot bearing is going out or is gone. Im grasping here fellas, LOL. Any help is appreciated. Thank you Jason |

Sounds like a F-350 I use to own. When I took it apart, 50% of the springs in the clutch disk were broken. At that time, I had to replace the clutch, pressure plate and flywheel. The springs ate the hell out of them as they were breaking up.

It is the same....I recently bought a clutch and pressure plate....beleive it or not NAPA had the best price easily....
Ask for a 64 or 65 Gladiator pickup with a 230 and an 11 inch clutch. I think one was $45 and one was $55....not bad really... If you need the throwout bearing too, then you can get a kit at AutoZone, clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing. NAPA has the throwout bearing but its more expensive to buy the 3 pieces from them....the bearing was over $70 at NAPA by itself....the Autozone kit is around $150.... Hope that helps....I posted the parts numbers on the board here when I bought them...a search should turn them up. brute4c
