It varies Hetzer. Mine is a 7.5" outside, others vary depending on original application. To get mine to mate to a Jeep 360, I'm told by Advance Adapters that I need to change to a 6.5" (I think, can't find my notes right now). Anyway, you may have to change that shaft depending on the motor that you going to use. Advance has the details, and there is another shop, www.mantrans.com that carries the parts, but doesn't know the lengths. So, I would get the length from Advance and then comparison-shop.

OK, found my notes, the overall length of the T98 shaft is usually 13". In order to use my Jeep 360, I need a stick-out length of 6.5". I don't know what you will need based on whatever motor you use. I talked to Gino at Advance Adapters - 800-350-2223.

Hey thanks Rich, that answers my question. I've got a AC Delco reman Ford 5.0 sitting at work and am contemplating transmissions. Not sure when I'll get around to it at this point. Lots of things to think over.

Go with the T-18. Direct bolt up and easy swap.
