The fuel gauge on my 12v converted truck doesn't work at all. Are these gauges capable of working on 12 volts or do I need to look at an aftermarket gauge?

I think you're looking at an aftermarket gauge. 12v with a matching 12v sender.

Yes, you must use a 12 volt gauge and a matching sending unit...the stock stuff wont run on 12.

Unfortunately...the military sending unit does not have a scale that allows for anyone elses gauge to match to it so you will need to get a matched set of some other scale...
