Default Speaking of 350 SB - part deux

OK I was so pleased with the exhaust question .....

Stock 6 had 132HP ... what is the safest HP and torque you think i can put on the stock T-98 and NP200. I 'll have new axles so not worried there.

What kind of driving? If your goal is to put it in 4 low and try and get all 4 tires smoking in a burn out contest then I would worry about the transmission, u-joints and the drive shafts.

I don't remember what axle ratio you have on the new ones. My big block with stock axles and transfer case was never able to really get the power to the tires in a way that would break stuff. Granted, I never tried doing burnouts either. My diesel has gobs more torque than stock or the 396 and I haven't thought about it breaking anything in years.

People who build crazy off road only rigs all seem to want the NP200 for them so I don't ever worry about that.

Sermis has a 350 in his 725 with the Novak kit to a T98 and NP200. He drives everything like he stole it and has had no breakage at all. Which is saying something because he continually breaks his V8 CJ-5.

Just, never, never get full lock on the steering with a front tire against an obstacle and hit the go pedal in anger is my advice.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.

Excellent! Thanks. Yeah I'm not looking to do burnouts .... those years are behind me. The ratio I got in the axles is 4.56.
