    The rocker's function is to operate the valve in accordance to the input it recieves from the camshaft.

    This Gif should make it clear for ya.
    Blue is the rocker
    orange represents the lobe on the cam
    red is a lifter
    yellow is a pushrod
    silver is the valve.


    Note the Gif is for a typical "underhead cam"...the 230 is a "overhead cam" No need for a lifter and pushrod as the rocker rides right on the cam.


    Guys, take it easy on 50...LOL he's still a pup yet.
