I have found a couple of articles that indicate that not all the M715s came with a hand throttle, mine did. More than one sorce said that if the truck was a radio truck it at least had the hand throttle to keep it revved up if not also a 100amp gen, not the standard 60amp. No indication mine every had a radio but I did find mine with a heater/defroster (appears stock) and an artic top. Any thoughts???

Huh, that explains why mine has a hand throttle too. I have the bracketry for a 100 amp alt (no alt) so it must've been a radio truck also.

Winch trucks had them usually as well...
Min has a hand throttle but had no factory heater or hard top or 100 amp alternator or winch or radio...just a stock truck. THEORY: Up here, I use it as a fast idle in the cold...maybe that was the intent? By the way, not all 100 amp alternator trucks were radio trucks...

Does anyone have a pic of an M715 that WAS a radio truck? I have never seen one. I found mine in a field, no canvas, but all the troop seats and top bows in tact. Only thing not stock that I can tell is the seat covers. So where were the radios mounted?

Or it would keep the engine revved for the PTO winch speed...

The data plate shows mine was a non winch model.

I'd also keep in mind you're dealing with a truck that is now over 40 years old. It is possible that someone could have added the throttle from a donor or parts source.

Yea, I thought of that, just trying to learn what I can about this old girl. It's not the DUWK I always dreamed of owning but I want to put her together a right as can be. Thanks for the help.
