Default Locking Hubs-for a stock M715-What is everyone using?

As far as I know, thats the only one of new manufacture that fits....Autozone sells them for about $195.00 per pair, best price I know of. I use that same one, have for 10,000 miles now...love them!!

i got mine for free... took some scrap metal from the back yard and welded up some blanks to stick on there... work good but a pain in the butt to swap out so much. i only use them when going on long trips. annoying, but hey the price is right.

Yes I am showing my ignorance here, but just exactly do they do? I had thought they disconected the axle from engaging the rim? Why use them for long trips? Isn't the transfer case in two wheel mode good enough?

You're still using energy to turn the axles/differential without using lockouts, better milage, more power.

Easier steering and less fatigue if the front wheels free spin.

High speeds sometimes bring out any missalighnment you have in pinion angles after a transfer case swap.

What were the originals? Mine look to have been on there a long time and they're made by Warn.
