Changed my points and need to know where to set them.

Also my old points had an extra copper spring on it. It had the steel spring also.

My new points I got from AB linn only had the steel spring ?

The copper is used as the current path. It's not actually a spring. It seems they did away with the separate conductor in newer points sets, my guess is to save on manufacturing costs.

    Yep, .020 + or - .002 inch OR 41 degrees of dwell...take your pick.

On the dwell, the manual states that 38 to 44 is acceptable....less than 38, large gap, may cause engine to misfire at high speeds or under load....less than 44, small gap, can cause hard starting.
