    Default Seat covers/foam

Does anyone know of any place that reproduces or has old stock seat covers and foam for the stock frames? I have stock frames, but need the rest. I don't really even need new, just decent shape.

    Thanks in advance!

webbee webbing has covers and foam as well although the orignal was just springs with a bit of fiber mesh over, the foam is much more comfortable

Do you have the plywood bases too? The plywood bases have angled brackets that bolt to the seat frame. You can get 4" high-density foam padding for the seat bottom and 1- or 2" for the seat back from a craft store and pick up a set of seat covers from Webbee Webbing, New Life Canvas or such for about $100 to cover both seats.

I put the foam on my passenger seat (a 2-butt seat out of a Duece) and it's so much more comfortable than the stock springs-and-horse-hair affair that I'll probably do it for my driver's seat as well.

I just have the metal frames I got from Bob Cowan. There's no springs, wood or anything.

I figured I would most likely end up going the plywood and cover route. Those spring affairs are uncomfortable at best! I once had an early Datsun pickup with the metal springs in the seat, and when the cover wore through, if you jumped in at just the right angle and speed, it would pinch the s**t out of your rear-end......

The springs aren't so uncomfortable to me, but I'm always bouncing when I go over rough roads.

I checked out WeeBee Webbing and they have the foam and covers, all for, get this, $230.00. Coincidence? Hmmmm!

Anyway, that will most likely be the route I go for that. Thanks a bunch guys!!

I got a new soft top and 2 seat covers and foam for $375 at surplus city jeep.I like the seat covers, the foam is alright, have not opened the top yet.

I got the same deal at surplus city jeeps and I posted picks of the top and seats under modified tech. I called new life but they called me back like 3 weeks later and I already had the SCJ one installed... I would have liked the bigger window but I am very pleased with the quality of the SCJ top.

The plywood part would not be hard to fabricate and I just stuffed as much foam as I could get in between the new canvas and the plywood then laced them up. They are pretty comfy now, but my first tow to Tellico will be the real test.

If you need to fabricate the plywood use 3/4 inch ply and get a good construction grade that will hold up in the truck.
