Oh yeah......factory gearing in the truck it came out of was 5.10. It would easily do 70 mph. That is also dragging 20k lbs. I have no doubt it will work fine. I can always re-gear or swap axles if needed. I am going to let the truck tell me what it needs.
Dahoyle----my game plan is to reverse build the drivetrain into the frame. Leave my header panel on the frame and work backwards with the cab off the truck. Then install everything as tight as I can, until I run out of room. I got to go and look at a 3116 today and measure it. From what i can tell I am only going to be about 4 inches shy. A body lift will help relieve some of the height and length problems. After seeing the motor today I feel alot better about it fitting. The picture makes it look huge, but it's not that big. Engine and transmission overall was only 56". I also found a cool intercooler at the salvage yard that I will try to incorporate if I have room. Cat mechanic told me today that it wasn't needed, but would help make a few more horses. Snakeater
