Thread: Steering shaft size.

  1. #1

    Default Steering shaft size.

I would like to inquire if anyone knows the diameter of the shaft on the stock steering column. I am looking to purchase a weld on quick release for my grant steering wheel. They are sold by shaft width. If I had one available to measure I wouldn't bother you guys but Im not located near one currently. TY

The size I am looking for is the diameter of the actual shaft, where the quick disconnect would weld onto. I dont want to be a hassle...more if someone had a general idea or one easily accessed. I'll be back around my 715 in about a week so if nobody has easy access I can pull mine apart then. TY for any response Brute.

For some reason, I cannot find my micrometer...best I can do is try to measure with a tape measure...how precise do you need?

im pretty sure the adapters are based on 1/4 inches...so closest to that is cool.

The shaft is 3/4" round. I know this because I modified the bottom of mine to work with a 3/4 DD u-joint.
