Thread: Heater box

    Default Heater box

OK so I was going over the heater box from my truck, it was already laying on the cab floor so why not. I figured I'd clean it up a little. Well as I was taking it apart and checking stuff over I noticed that it's not the Arctic unit that's in the manuals section. It also definitely does not use a GM blower motor, or at least not the one everybody talks about. Well the only useful info I could find on the heater box says this:

    MOPAR
    Model 77
1921898(this number might not be 100% it was just too far gone.)

Does anybody have any info on this unit? I'm guessing it's out of a Mopar product of some type. Thanks

Think about it this way. The truck is almost 40 years old and has had several owners. Who knows what the heater you have is actually out of or what it was doing sitting in your cab. Just find a FSJ and you will have all the HVAC stuff you need that actually fit the truck.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.

Yeh I have thought about that, it may happen latter on. I like this box it's small, the truck's firewall is already setup for it, and it looks pretty cool. I'm planning on cleaning it up and getting a new motor and core for it then re-using it. I will probably add a heater control valve to the system.
