Where can I find about 1/2 dzn ea. 24 volt bulbs for my tail lights?
I have 2 out and want spares.
Looks like there are 2 types in the tail light
one marked W1683 and the other marked W1251
OH, and no NAPA within 20 miles?

They come up on eBay fairly often. Or http://www.napaonline.com/ (kinda spendy there though!)

I bought 5 1251's from O'Rielly auto parts last week. Little less than $2.00 each. They have the bigger bulbs that they could order for about the same price. Might want to try the website.
Saturn also carries them for about the same price as I listed above.
Remember if you didn't build it you can't call it yours.

Midwest Military,Or any of the other mv suppliers!!
The bulbs are available from just about any auto parts...though they might need to order them. The bulb numbers are standard GE bulb numbers and are in just about every catalogue out there.
They are GE bulb numbers....heres info from a site that lists some of the details on bulbs:
GE 1683 SINGLE CONTACT BAYONET BULB
* S-8 Bulb 1" (25mm) diameter
* Aircraft - 2 identical filiments in series.
* 28 Volt.
* Design Amps: 1.02
* Base: single contact bayonet
* Filament Designation: 2C-6
* Trade No.: 1683
* Life Hours: 500
* Candle Power: 32
* General Electric Bulb.
Heres a link if you like:
http://www.imperialinc.com/items.asp?item=0815843
so anywhere that carries the GE line or can cross a GE bulb number can get it. Looking at Sylvanias site...confusing but...they do have 24 volt bulbs in that style...about 6 or 7 of them for the 1683 style alone.
Last resort, truck stop. Most of the newer model tractor-trailers have 12 volt lights and accessories but the truck stops still carry 24 volt bulbs for the older trucks.
The reason I said last resort is everything at a truck stop is generally very expensive (24 years a truckdriver).
