Thread: Update on my M715 w/pics!

Default Update on my M715 w/pics!

    Hi,

Its been a few months since my last post and I haven't had much time to work on the truck so progress has been slow. However, I finally got the tailgate cut off the bed( The Fire department welded it on as a bed extension but torched the hinges off ). The exhaust has been replaced with a quiet single rear outlet stock looking set up. I inspected all the brakes, repacked the front wheel bearings and installed the Selectro hubs. And to top it off I got the 11.00R16 XZL's installed!

Even with the red, it still looks like one tough truck.

There is something about new rubber and a clean-up that makes so much difference. Looking good!

The 11.00R16 XZL's made a HUGE difference in the ride quality! I am very impressed with these tires. I just wish they were still available new.

The split rims were not hard to deal with at all. I actually liked working with them! As long as you respect them and understand how the locking ring works I think it would be very rare to have a problem.

Eventually the whole truck will be painted 24084 Semi-Gloss OD. Thats the color on the wheels right now. I also want to find a set of troop seats and rear bows. I want the truck to be all stock except for the 350 SBC(Fire Dept installed) and the XZL's.

    Zach,

I bought the tires from a guy who advertised them on a Dodge Power Wagon forum about a year ago. He just had one extra set to sell and I happened to catch them at the right moment. The two I put on the front are close to new. The two on the rear have some pretty weird feathering and a few missing chunks as well. They still ride great though! Best modification that can be made to the M715 in my opinion!

I had a pretty rough m715 that we used for a farm truck for awhile,it always had a old set of 31-10.50s on it.When i sold it,i sold it with a set of 37" tsl radials i had.Man the difference that made when i put them on !! lol i wish i had gotten more for it,it drove 100 times better. I agree with everyone, keep up the good work your truck looks good !!
