Thread: Rhino 5/4 Hub Question

    Default Rhino 5/4 Hub Question

M725 CUCV axle conversion. I am starting the process of the DANA 60 front swap and have a question. I have looked through the search engine here but I cannot find a definite yes or no on if I need to change the front single hubs out to dually. I installed a DANA 70HD, currently with dually drums and H1 wheels and tires. I have what I guess is single wheel rotors that I could swap out later but probably will not. The 60 is rather heavy and going back spring under and would like to put it in right the first time if possible. Could someone offer any insight or answer to my question please?
    Thanks.

Your wheel mounting surface is 67.5 with that axle. The WMS with DRW hubs is 75.5 so you'd be gaining 8 inches of width. What is the WMS for the 70 you installed? I used the SRW hubs with 2 inch spacers to compliment the 14Bolt in the rear. I m not crazy about the spacers but it works. I also kept the truck spring under with HMMWV wheels and tires. The spring pad on the drivers side is straight forward, but I'm curious of what you design for the passenger side. You have to get creative and would love to see what you come up with.

Thanks for your reply. We pulled the run flats out of a set and when I get them mounted I will measure the 70 when I swap them out. From what I have found and seen from further digging I think I will need the extra 8 inches to make the front and back close to the same. What you are saying about the WMS makes sense as a guide. And yes I will need to do some fabrication on the passenger ubolt mounting plate. Thanks for your response. Will follow up with more info as I come up with it

If this is what I am needing, a set came with the axle I bought. I was thinking that it was for a drum to disc conversion.

that is what my front hubs look like. also if you remove the runflats you will need to replace
them with inserts like these from trail worthy fab.http://www.trailworthyfab.com/Hummer...VC-Insert.html
