Manual lists 5500...mine weighed 5350 on a scale with 1/4 tank of gas and the spare tire.

I guess the deal was they registered me as a car so it was sent back. + they needed empty weight. Thanks Brute4c

I am waiting to get the title back before I drop 1300 on tires / tubes.

Be wary---here in Michigan old trucks reg fees go by weight---Just sayin if you could lighten it here its well worth it. Of course here they USUALLY make you get a slip--unless its the girls first day and she isnt paying attention and doesnt seem to really care--again just sayin

They weren't sure what kind of class to put me in when I first tried to register mine here so the office manager walked out to my truck with me and wrote down the GVSW and the carry weight then subtracted the latter from the formet to come up with a vehicle weight. I have no idea what to tell you the fees would be because I went with an Authentic Plate. Here in MI you can get a plate from the year of manufacture of your vehicle (30 yo+) and send in a form that makes it legal. $35.00 one time fee with a Non-Expiring registration. Meaning that for as long as I own it I don't have to pay for another plate. It is supposed to be for limited use and for the most part I've complied, but I did use my 715 as a dd for over a year and never had any problems.

In Wisconsin they go by gross weight you are going to carry...short yourself there and it may hurt if you haul and get stopped...
