Thread: mirror bracket for my 715

Default mirror bracket for my 715

I just unloaded my 1968 m715 and have been looking her over. My mirrors have the usual m series mirror arm like the m37. It also has a second smaller support arm about the thickness of a pencil. I haven't seen this variation in any pictures. Is this just an add on from the forestry service or is it a later military upgrade? Also did the m715's come off the assembly line with seat belts?

    Welcome to the madness!

No seat belts from the factory, but they can be added easily.

As far as the mirror mounts, they have a "telescoping" sort of single arm mount factory installed. Post up a picture and that can help clarify what you have.....

Just to expand on that a little...

The Full Size Jeep pickups and Wagoneer/Cherokee bodies have the seat belt mounts made into the floor/wall joint right behind the door a bit...you will see the threaded hole...and on the inner edge of the seat as well. These points were carried over into the M715 "mold" thouh the factory didnt use them but they are the same points and are strong...important for seat belt mounting.

Thanks for the info. I kind of figured the second mirror arm was an add on because the mounting screws were different than the other screws. Anyone around Jacksonville NC.
