    Cab and Bed Mounts
Post by fisherman on Oct 29, 2006, 12:17pm

Someone posted awhile back about using boat rollers and cutting them for their body and bed mounts. I want to do 1" over stock body lift and I think this would work great. I did a search and nothing came up. Any Information would be appreciated. Thanks All

I used the boat roller method and they work fine. I don't know how they compare to CJ mouts for hardness. Problem with raising the bed mounts using more rubber is the added load on the bolt and spacer when loaded. Could try aluminum or steel spacer under the existing mounts with longer bolts.

I used this method a couple of years ago to build a 1.5" body lift for my 74 Wagoneer Custom. Used the boat rollers with the nylon sleeve insert. Pull the sleeve out; cut them to your desired thickness; go to the hardware store/Home Depot and buy steel tubing same diameter as sleeve; cut the tubing about 1/2" shorter than mount; buy the right length grade 8 nuts & bolts with 2 large washer; and bolt it up. Works great, is inexpensive and the sleeved body mounts are really stable. I did a write up with pictures on this over on the IFSJA site, but you'll have to do a search for it because I did not save the link.

I think Luck was doing some Poly rasamataz type mounts. Latest and greatest so to speak.
