    Front shackle dimensions?
Post by dummy on May 28, 2006, 9:25am

Over2land tells me the front springs are 2.5-inches wide (my truck is 150 miles away or I'd measure myself). I need some front shackles to replace some cobbled abortion a previous owner affixed to the front springs as a lift attempt.

What's the id of the front shackle hanger? I remember hearing somewhere that stock XJ shackles would work.

I'm trying to get this pig ready for the FSJ deal in Ouray in July.

The id of the lower portion (where the springs go) is 2-3/4" and then it tapers down to 1-7/8" at the point it mounts to the frame. Both sides taper evenly. That is to say, both sides come in 7/16".

That pic looks pretty hacked. Let me know if you'd like a similar pic of what it's supposed to look like.

Oh, and the top spring width is indeed 2-1/2" wide. The other springs in the pack are 2".

Cool. I'll just make some shackles myself then.

A pic would be great if you've got the stock setup. Thanks.

You can still get NOS front shackles from AB Linn, Memphis, VPW, etc.
