    Default IMI's 12v starter

I saw on a thread here somewhere about IMI haveing a compatable 12v starter for our trucks. I found this one for just short of 230 dollars (kind of funny). Will this one work for a 12v conversion on the 715? A link to the web site is at the bottom.

Interesting. I wonder how that price stacks up against rebuilding the one I have.

Couldn't find a price or a way to buy the thing, so not much good in my opinion.

I called the company. I have one on the way. It was 215 dollars shipped. I'll post pics and hopefully some installed pics.

I'll look forward to that; mine is somewhat doubtful.

The starter works great. The only issue I had was the housing of the starter prevented me from putting one of the original bolts in. Went to the auto part store and bought a longer bolt and a spacer and finished the install. Works great and it went in so easy. This weighs 8 pounds compared to the I'm guessing 20 pounds of the original. A small jumper comes with it and is needed. It connects to the positive terminal on the starter. Very happy with this purchase.
