    Default It has started again!

Well I've made my decision to take my M715 back to stock. I know alot of people will be shaking thier heads at someone who is going to take a good running V8 400 out to put the stock 230 I6 back in. But I feel that it will only improve the value of my super clean truck on down the road. I don't DD my truck or use it for off-roading, so why not go back to stock. Monday I picked up a clean good running 230 from Tomahawk715 and will be acquiring the rest of the piece I need to do the swap back. This does mean that in the near future there will be a few nice pieces for sale for anyone going to 12v and a V8.

Glad to see you made it home safe and sound with the motor/trans-Let me know on your progress with it. Should have stayed around for the festivities-ended up trying to remove that J trucks bed with the backhoe-seems those bolts are a bit stronger than I thought Anyway-nice to meet ya Dave-hope to see you down in Silver Lake next year-ought to have the truck done by then.

    Dave,
You have all my respect for this choice. I cant wait to see how beautiful it becomes now...not that it has any ugliness anywhere!

I think your making a wise chioce. In the future a stock M715 will be worth more than a modified one and your truck is so good now it will only add to it. The only thing left after you make the swap is get some NDT...or at least a second set of rims with NDT to swap out at shows...

I'm headed to the inlaws this weekend, who live just south of Akron, Ohio so I plan on trying to sneek away a bit on Friday to get over to Sam Winer's to see if I can scrounge up a few more bits and pieces I need to do the swap. The main thing I'll be looking for there is a good trans crossmember, as the one in my truck had been modified to move trans forward 2" to help with firewall clearances. Also a military 24v dist. as the one from Tomahawk has a civi 12v unit on it. But he did send me home with a nice box of extras that he was not going to use; a good intact front wiring harness, stock early style turn signal and dist box, and a spare 1920 carb.

Joe, I'll try and give you a call if I get up to Cleveland. I'll have the Leather Nattie number with me.

Dave, I'm just east of I-275, and 30 seconds off of I-696, you should plan to stop by my place, I think I can set you up with the harness, and the cross member. Maybe even the dist.
Good luck returning it to stock

Are you going to get rid of the 12vdc dist? How much if so? I'd like to have it.

Well, everyone, thanks for the offers. I have already made it to Ohio. But maybe I can make the swing back towards Detriot next week and help clean out a few parts from some of you guys.

    Thanks,

    Dave
