    Default pulling a trailer?

i did find the one thread about trailers and what vehicle you have other than a 715, but I am wondering what the options are in military style trailers?

what was actually used at the time and what is out there to be had?

I thought it would be cool (pun intended) to pull a water buffalo.

anyone pulling something? pics would be fantastic!

M101A1 3/4 cargo trailer or the M116A1 generator trailer or the M116 pioneer trailer.

thanks. didn;t know any of the designation numbers. i will check those out.

i put m101a1 into google and the first thing that came up was an artillery piece. LOL- now THAT would be cool! but I am thinking VERY expensive and probably a pian in the blank to own legally. probably be required to seal the barrel or something. what good is that?

Most artillery was to large to be pulled by less than a duece, as is the water buffalo. The M-101 is the common trailer you see the most , the others listed are good too maybe a little harder to come by. The M-101A1(or A2) was a newer version set up for towing by the cucv, it had smaller wheels and surge brakes. the M-101 had the same wheels as the M-37, when towed by 715 you needed a wheel lug adapter to be able to use the 715 spare as the trailers didnt carry their own. Later when the M-880 came out they had to keep an M-37 spare in the convoy as the 880 wheels were to different, also the light bulbs often had to be changed to 12v. Both versions of the trailer had a mechanical hand brake. This pic is a M-101A1(orA2) as you can see the surge brake master on the tounge, and the smaller wheels:

    great info thanks.
i am guessing the weight of the water is what would do it in the buffalo. i wonder if an empty one though (though it would defeat the purpose).

You could tow an empty one, however it as with all larger trailers uses wheels/tires comp to those on a duece.
