Thread: Were "Chokes" a dealer option?

    I have an "Engine Stop" pull out on the lower dash-rightside of steering column, but NO Choke pull out anywhere? No cable or linkage to carb. either. Just curious, it mentions them in the manuals???

    That is your choke, The Fire Dept just stuck a duece engine stop on in place of the choke handle. The stock one is just a simple round knob

    Weird! It doesn't work like a Choke,it's like a ratchet mechanism.You have to turn it to make it go back in?

    That is how the engine stop works. Locks in position. Nothing to do with the choke.

    Could it be a manual throttle with the wrong knob on it...they work that way, with clicks as you pull out and turn to release back in again...where does this thing hook up to? Anywhere or no?
