Default Major progress on the 715 yesterday!

Here are some new pics of the 715 as it comes along.

    The engine in the frame:

Another shot of it in place:

    With the sheetmetal in place:

And with the frontend back in place:

I should have it up and running under its own power possibly by the week of Christmas and New Year. I plan on taking off that week to get this wrapped up more.

What paint/color is that on the truck, I like it. Nice and flat. Opposite of how I like my women.

Looks real good. I like that intake.

That looks like 34079 forest green maybe.

That motor will look alot better once you put some of that 34079 on it...

Thanks for all the kind words!

Actually, as much as I hate to admit it, the color is Krylon Olive rattle can from the camoflauge line. It doesn't have the splotches in it, like it appears in the pics. Its just something in the digital images that does that. I did prep and prime (with a gun) like I would any body job. This is kind of an experiment to see if its paint, or prep that makes the difference. It will be garaged, but used, so we will see how it holds up.

As for the carbs, this is going to be a unique setup. I ran it for many years on another 427 Chevy I had. Its an Edelbrock dual-quad intake, but the carbs are real Carter AFB's (no copies) off of a '58 Corvette. The rear carb is the primary and has the idle circuit, and adjustments. The front is strictly a secondary, with no mixture screws and no idle circuit at all. A rare setup, but a very streetable and functional one. I plan on making some sort of air cleaner that will look as military/industrial as possible.

I also installed the top tonight too. Pics will come tomorrow....

Oh, and Gonz, still looking on the gaskets. I should have something for you by tomorrow.
