LU4 winch/ paint removal

What is the best way to clean paint off of the aluminum? I was thinking of sand blasting it, but will it hurt the cast aluminum? Or wound a paint stripper be better? Planning on repainting it od green. It is all disassembled.

Sand blast away, the etching of the metal will help hold your new paint really good. After sand blasting give the parts a good bath, clean with brake klean, let dry. Paint really good.

I used aircraft stripper. A couple coats, 3-5 beers, scraping, 2-3 more beers, more coats of stripper, scrape and wire brush and a good wash afterwards. It really didn't take that long.
