Thread: Brake hose and throttle cable "clips"

  1. #1

Default Brake hose and throttle cable "clips"

Taking apart the brakes and the spring retaining clips that hold the hose ends to the frame brackets are not reusable. These were used on many hoses in the past but I can't find them. Tried the auto parts stores, hardware stores and some speciality suppliers and they know what I want but no longer have them. Everything today is plastic. I found manufacturers so they are still made for various applications. "E" clips might work but have not given up on finding the correct ones to use with the new hoses.

Also need the ones for the accelerator cable at the firewall and the carb bracket. Same clip, different sizes.

    Any out there?

Find a NAPA, and not a corporate owned one. The independent owned stores tend to have better stock. Auto Zone and Advance generally are OK for something new, but anything over 5 years old is shooting in the dark.

Those clips were used on many full size pickups and cars and on some models still to this day. Shouldn't be too hard to find. Try the HELP line of parts.
