Default pertronix points relacement ???

if i replaced the points with a pertronix ignitor I would think I would get rid of the points problems that happens like , setting them , bad contacts not having to check them with a dwell meter and all that . I would think it would solve a lot of problems of all the points issues . so does anyone know if the one on amazon would work . MV 161 A AUTOLITE 6CYLINDER with no problems with it fitting and all that . it is 24 v but will it just bolt in with no problems and work the way it should . cant find a lot of info on this really tired of truck always not running and having issues !!!!!!!!! also how would this work with the advance system in these trucks

Yes, the Pertronix MV161 A is the correct unit to use. Very simple to install.
I have been quite happy with the way my tornado jumps to life whenever the starter switch is pushed. And, has been trouble free.

The centrifugal advance is retained, and works fine.

You can see by the picture of mine, that the unit only replaces the top plate which held the breaker points.

Cons are - 1 If you leave the ignition turned on with engine not running, the unit will burn out. Had it happen with my 64 CJ3B

- 2 If the unit should happen to fail, you may not have much warning and leave you stranded. I bought a spare that I keep in the glove box.

I just looked at the receipt for the one I recently installed. MV-161A is correct.
