Thread: Flasher unit

    Default Flasher unit

    Hi all my flasher unit is shot, its the black oblong plastic thing in the circuit box under the hood. are they a standard unit fitted to other vehicles or not,as I live in New Zealand I have not seen this type before, also who stocks them in the U.S.A. thanks

    If this is the electromechanical flasher in the big box with three relays and a resistor, you should be able to replace it with any 24V flasher from an auto parts store. If you want to take a photo of the box and the part, it'll help us know what you're looking at.

    If its the black bakelite flasher.... I had one that didn't work. So I unplugged it & carefully removed the little cover on one side. Then I cleaned the contacts inside. Reassembled & it has worked fine ever since.
    This was 8-10 years ago.
