Post by truckin on May 1, 2006, 2:44pm

This is mainly to y'all Texas members

Has anybody checked this guy's place out?

    http://www.vintagemilitarytrucks.com/

    Is he a board member?
I'm still trying to find a truck, and maybe it's my imagination but it seems like prices are rising! This guy is asking a little much, but if he'll come down some maybe we'll deal.

    Thanks,
    Brad

His prices are on the upper end of the "reasonable price" range.
Remember, m715's are worth only what you are willing to pay.

Some people think because they invested $15k in a $2k truck they have a $17k truck. Most guys who like m715's don't want to pay more than $3-4k no matter how good the condition.

m715's come up in texas 3-4 times a year on ebay. keep watching. You will probably be bidding against John Colwell (metexaco). I did. LOL.

I might have to take a trip down 35, if I dont find something cheaper soon. I kick myself in the ass every time I think about the $1000 truck I passed on. It had a chevy v8 with the tranny adapter, and springover lift on 44s. Oh well there will always be other trucks I guess.

He is in the oil business. Has an office in Waxahachie. Can't miss it, it has military vehicles parked all around it. BTW, I think he is the owner of the Miss Texaco power wagon truck, hence the user names.

I've talked with John a few times while I was interested in his two M715's w/w. Nice enough guy. His prices are on the high end. He owns Colwell Oil. He's also stated to me that he will buy as many grill guards and tailgates that he can get his hands on as many of his vehicles are missing them.
